amazing new things to know!
This has been a week where amazing ideas have been revealed to me. The first was on Tuesday night when Christian and Esther started talking about the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE). It is wonderful to discover this organization that is all about getting economic power where it belongs, in our communities. We don’t have any groups in Indiana and I have already started gathering information and getting other folks interested in it.
So I send a link to my friend Steve who is in Austin at a New Urbanism conference right now. I thought that this is something he would be most interested in. Sure enough, I just got a message from him, BALLE is being referenced in the session he is in and he sends me info about B Corporation, an organization dedicated to promoting the development of socially responsible businesses in our communities.
I am so excited about all of this. It ties right in with my personal mission in my work life right now. It is always amazing to me how important pieces of information find their way to me at moments when I can do something with them.
