he made a video!

June 6, 2008

I met up with Steve Hill at the market last week, he is a senior at IU and works for the IDS. He called us up at Bloomingfoods asking if he could talk to us about local food and the Farmers’ Market. I ended up being on camera in spite of how incredibly critical of seeing myself talk about things. . .

The result is this lovely little video about the Farmers’ Market.

When I met up with Steve early last Saturday morning, he was amazed at the vibrant scene. It was his first time at market and we talked about getting the word out to students. How can we get them shopping for all the fresh foods available every Saturday and Tuesday – just a few blocks away from campus? It was clear to me that people of all ages are interested in eating healthy, local foods and I hope that we can find ways to reach the students in our community.

Yes I have often wondered why we don’t see more students at market – I do hope we find ways to increase their awareness/desire for locally grown fresh produce, and for experiencing market.
